FLIP AND DRAW
This foldable table transforms into a chalkboard, providing an engaging space for children to draw and play while their parents shop at the food pantry. The dual-sided chalkboard surface allows staff to write meeting notes, new arrivals, and important announcements. When used as a table, product details and quantity limits can be clearly displayed, reducing the need for repeated inquiries. Designed for convenience, this table folds into a compact, flat form for easy storage. Functional, space-saving, and interactive, it enhances both organization and engagement in community spaces.

04 CONCEPT & PHASING Communal Porch
In rural landscapes, farms have long been spaces of gathering and resilience. This project draws from typologies like the longhouse, dogtrot, and farmhouse porch, reinterpreting them to foster both physical and communal nourishment while supporting the Enfield Food Pantry.
The elongated form emphasizes collectivity, with a kitchen and chapel anchoring the space—one for shared meals and learning, the other for reflection. A dogtrot separates the chapel, creating a sheltered outdoor area that adapts to seasonal needs. The front porch, both circulatory and programmatic, serves as an entrance, gathering spot, and stage, reinforcing its identity as a place of connection.
Greenhouses arranged around a shared courtyard encourage collaboration between students, farmers, and chefs, while nearby garden beds provide hands-on engagement with food production. Through education, self-sufficiency, and community-building, the Enfield Community Hub & Food Pantry becomes a model for food sovereignty and environmental stewardship. 05 DRAWING SETS New food pantry design proposal
